Is it Time to Let GO? Have you ever felt exhausted without doing any physical work? People can get emotionally and physically tired from trying to solve a problem that is bothering them or staying focused on something that they are not happy with. This is because mental thinking processes are as laboring as physical ones. Both can leave you drained and exhausted. The same is true with emotions. When your mind is overwhelmed with too much information and too many sensations, it works harder to keep your body safe and working properly. This is both physically and mentally draining and can leave you feeling exhausted. Here are 5 emotional situations that can leave you feeling physically exhausted.
- Toxic relationships
- Putting everyone else’s needs before yours
- Taking on more than you can handle, regardless of the situation
- Operating in a “mess”
- The need for perfection
Which one can you relate to? And the better question is, which are ready to release so that you can feel freer, more energized, and realize your full potential? Something to Think About Life is filled with situations that emotionally drain you. The important thing is to recognize when it is happening and take action. And by taking action, I don’t mean keeping up with the Joneses or making sure everything is picture perfect. A wise person once taught the concept of “good enough for now”. While that may be tough for some, slowing down a bit to reevaluate what is important, learning to delegate, and learning to let go – will afford you less stress and way more quality time with those I loved. Weekly Activity There are two great ways to shift your energy quickly. One is to be in service of someone else. Who can you take under your wing or what cause is near and dear to your heart that will allow you to fuel a passion for helping? When we give – we get. It’s that simple. The second is to find a mentor from whom you can learn from that you admire and trust. Both of these strategies take us out of our own heads and allow for valuable perspective to spotlight new paths. Try them this week. Words of Wisdom The truth is that there is no actual stress or anxiety in the world; it's your thoughts that create these false beliefs. You can't package stress, touch it, or see it. There are only people engaged in stressful thinking. - Wayne Dyer Within you, there is a stillness and a sanctuary to which you can retreat at any time and be yourself. —Hermann Hesse If you don't think your anxiety, depression, sadness, and stress impact your physical health, think again. All of these emotions trigger chemical reactions in your body, which can lead to inflammation and a weakened immune system. Learn how to cope, sweet friend. There will always be dark days. -Kris Carr Don’t try to force anything. Let life be a deep let-go. God opens millions of flowers every day without forcing their buds. —Osho Set peace of mind as your highest goal and organize your life around it. —Brian Tracy
