Good Friends
Friends are friends, not because they are identical and always like the same things, or because they always think the same way, but because there is an understanding between two friends that exists at all times. There is a silent bond of respect and admiration and a strong sense of love that doesn’t go unspoken. Friends tell each other what they are thinking and how they are feeling. Friends allow each other to find their own space. They are ready to give comfort and to be a gentle guiding force when we are experiencing challenging moments. A true friend is someone who doesn’t try to change you but allows you to change yourself, so you can discover your talents and pursue your dreams. A good friendship promotes your happiness and delights in seeing you happy. They make you smile, even when they are not there. A friend is one of life’s most valued treasures.

Something to Think About
It’s said that most people can count the number of “true friends” on one hand, but if you have at least one true good friend, you are a fortunate person.

Weekly Activity
Call your “true friend” and tell me how much you appreciate their friendship and set up a time to get together with them this week. Have clients that have become friends? Reach out to them as well.

Life’s Magic Moments
The truly magical moments in life are those that seem to happen when we least expect it but need it the most.  Some call it destiny, others call it luck or fate. I call it life. Life is filled with zigs and zags, doors to be opened and doors to be closed, but you must be open to those special moments that are waiting to be discovered.  I had a friend who said she was never getting involved in a relationship again, only to have the perfect person show up in her life.  At first, she resisted, thinking of all the reasons why it would probably not work, with an attitude of “why spend the time and energy on something that won’t work out in the long run?” Fortunately, she got some great advice and decided to give it a chance. Four years later, it’s still perfect and they are planning their wedding. Life’s magic is everywhere. You just have to open your eyes and take a closer look at the world around you.  Don’t worry about where you have been. Give your smile away to the people you meet and watch your new future unfold.

Something to Think About
There’s a saying that has been around for a long time. It’s one of my personal favorites. Think you can, think you can’t, either way you are right! That’s powerful.

Weekly Activity
Spend more time smiling at those around you this week. Write five notes to amazing clients just to tell them thank you and that you are thinking of them.

Is it Time to Let GO?
Have you ever felt exhausted without doing any physical work? People can get emotionally and physically tired from trying to solve a problem that is bothering them or staying focused on something that they are not happy with. This is because mental thinking processes are as laboring as physical ones. Both can leave you drained and exhausted.  The same is true with emotions. When your mind is overwhelmed with too much information and too many sensations, it works harder to keep your body safe and working properly.  This is both physically and mentally draining and can leave you feeling exhausted.

Here are 5 emotional situations that can leave you feeling physically exhausted.

  1. Toxic relationships
  2. Putting everyone else’s needs before yours
  3. Taking on more than you can handle, regardless of the situation
  4. Operating in a “mess”
  5. The need for perfection

Which one can you relate to? And the better question is, which are ready to release so that you can feel freer, more energized, and realize your full potential?

Something to Think About
Life is filled with situations that emotionally drain you. The important thing is to recognize when it is happening and take action.  And by taking action, I don’t mean keeping up with the Joneses or making sure everything is picture perfect. A wise person once taught the concept of “good enough for now”. While that may be tough for some, slowing down a bit to reevaluate what is important, learning to delegate, and learning to let go – will afford you less stress and way more quality time with those I loved.

Weekly Activity
There are two great ways to shift your energy quickly. One is to be in service of someone else. Who can you take under your wing or what cause is near and dear to your heart that will allow you to fuel a passion for helping? When we give – we get. It’s that simple. The second is to find a mentor from whom you can learn from that you admire and trust. Both of these strategies take us out of our own heads and allow for valuable perspective to spotlight new paths. Try them this week.

Words of Wisdom
The truth is that there is no actual stress or anxiety in the world; it's your thoughts that create these false beliefs. You can't package stress, touch it, or see it. There are only people engaged in stressful thinking. - Wayne Dyer
Within you, there is a stillness and a sanctuary to which you can retreat at any time and be yourself. —Hermann Hesse
If you don't think your anxiety, depression, sadness, and stress impact your physical health, think again. All of these emotions trigger chemical reactions in your body, which can lead to inflammation and a weakened immune system. Learn how to cope, sweet friend. There will always be dark days. -Kris Carr
Don’t try to force anything. Let life be a deep let-go. God opens millions of flowers every day without forcing their buds. —Osho
Set peace of mind as your highest goal and organize your life around it. —Brian Tracy
