Exhaustion. It’s been a great, but very busy year so far and everyone is talking about how they are feeling. Are you exhausted? The belief that taking time off will cause everything to fall apart is not only unhealthy, it’s not true. Life goes on when you slow down and take time for you. If you don’t take time off, your body eventually will put its foot down and make you slow down. Bodies do it all the time. Stress is a leading cause of cancer, heart attacks, liver failure, grouchiness and a sudden lack of breath. Aside from the health issues, taking time to do the things that inspire you, should be a priority because that’s why we work so hard. So that we can enjoy life and those in our life. This is not a luxury reserved for the people who are smarter, richer, or less bogged down than you are. It’s a luxury reserved for people who take the time to figure it out and choose to design a more fulfilling and meaningful life. Something to Think About What’s the point of making lots of money and saving it until we are 70+ and finally have “time”? No one knows how much time they will have, or what the quality of life will be when we finally determine that we “have the time” to slow down and enjoy the fruits of our labor. Think how silly that sounds. If you are too old to work, how much pleasure will you have playing and traveling? What is more important than you and those you care about? Weekly Activity: Do something to enjoy your life now, this week, with those you love and care about. Take a good look at your calendar and determine where you can block personal time. Words of Wisdom Happiness, not in another place but this place…not for another hour, but this hour. - Walt Whitman We are always getting ready to live but never living. - Ralph Waldo Emerson Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans. - John Lennon You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island of opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land; there is no other life but this. - Henry David Thoreau The present moment is filled with joy and happiness. If you are attentive, you will see it. - Thich Nhat Hanh
