Love Yourself! I hope you had an awesome weekend, and I hope that you love yourself, for the unique person that you are and the value that you bring to the lives of others. Too often people base their self-worth on what other people think and allow that to be the ruling belief. I do however think that the opinions of others can offer us an opportunity to benefit from an outside opinion, especially if they know you well. We have all heard of constructive criticism, but there is also constructive complementing. If someone close to you tells you that you are always blowing up at people who disagree with you, perhaps you should ask yourself, “Is this true?” If so, use that feedback to make the necessary changes, but if it is not true, let it go! If your friends always tell you that you are a good listener, ask yourself, if that is a true compliment, and if so, how can you use it to better yourself and the life of others? If it is not true, let it go. Sometimes it’s easier for others to see what we cannot see in ourselves, allowing us to connect with our truths and live better, authentic lives and to contribute to those lives around us! Something to Think About It still ultimately comes down to what is true for you. The more connected you are to your inner truth, the easier it will be the use the outside opinions to your advantage, rather than let them rule your life.
