Perspective is Everything!
How was your weekend? When I ask that question, sometimes people sigh and say, “It was nothing exciting”, while others smile and say, “I did absolutely nothing, and loved it!” The same scenario but experienced differently.  It reminds me of the dad who wanted his son to see poverty so that he could appreciate all that he had. He took him to a very poor region of South America. After the trip the father asked, “Are you now able to see what it means to be poor?” The boy said, “Yes, and it was such a great lesson.” When the father asked him to explain what he saw, he said “Well, we have only one dog, and they have four of them. In our garden, there is a pool, while they have a river that has no end. We‘ve got expensive lanterns, but they have stars above their heads at night. We have the patio, and they have the whole horizon. We have only a small piece of land, while they have the endless fields. We buy food, but they grow it. We have a high fence for protection of our property, and they don‘t need it, as their friends protect them.” The father was stunned. He could not say a word. Then the boy added: “Thank you dad, for letting me see how poor we are.” This is a great example of how each saw their situation in a different way.
Perspective is everything! Have a great week!

Something to Think About...
I don’t think we need to travel to a remote part of the world to appreciate what we have but sometimes it’s good to sit back and think of how that everything in life can be seen differently if we take the time to look. For some, a large house represents success, while to others it represents pressure and stress to maintain and keep that large house. Losing a job could be seen as a disaster for some, but to others, it represents an opportunity to do something different and perhaps even better. There are always new ways of looking at things in our lives and in our businesses.  The next time you’re confronted with an obstacle, turn it over and around a little and see it a different way. It may be just the key you were looking for to unlock a new success!

Weekly Activity
Be grateful for everything this week, especially to those that helped you get where you were.  Take a few minutes to write out a hand-written card to at least five top clients who consistently send business and referrals your way and say thank you.
